Air Rifle Safety Rules
Always Observe The Following Safety Rules:
- Treat every gun as if it were loaded. Check, check and check again especially when receiving a gun from someone else.
- Never point any airgun, either loaded or unloaded, at any person
- Always keep the airgun pointed in a safe direction,
- Guns not in use should always be unloaded.
- Only cock or load a gun when you are shooting at the firing point. When in the Safe Zone do not load the airgun.
- Always wear the appropriate eye protection at all times when handling your air firle or pistol
- Always keep you airgun unloaded until ready to fire and make sure that it is unloaded before cleaning.
- Keep your finger off the trigger until you are actually aiming at the target and ready to shoot.
- If you have a problem please inform the range officer before trying to correct the problem or before leaving the firing point.
- Never rely on an airgun's "safety" to protect you from unsafe handling. A safety is a mechanical device, not a substitute for common sense and good safety procedures.
- Never leave an airgun unattended.
- Store airguns beyond the reach of children. THIS IS NOW THE LAW IN THE UK Make sure the airgun and pellets are locked away and secured
- Never carry an uncovered air rifle or pistol in public, it is a criminal offense and could result in you facing a police firearms unit.
THE RANGE OFFICER'S INSTRUCTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED AT ALL TIMES
